Got Your Copy of The Funniest And Most Important Book of 2020? AMERICAN HEMP FARMER is HERE

Got your copy?

It’s a manual for superfood independence and a Main Street renaissance

A hummingbird was my alarm clock this morning, and this is part of my health maintenance plan. I gave special thanks upon waking today for the blessing of working to maintain health, rather than fix it.  Long, healthy life. If that’s part of your family’s game plan, I’ve got something for you to read.

First, immense thanks to everyone who has already pre-ordered AMERICAN HEMP FARMER. You’ve set this book on the road to bestseller status, and more importantly that means lots of folks will be digesting its themes: 1) Superfood security is a seed away, 2) This time the farmers are in charge, and 3) A network of regional, hemp-led regenerative economies save humanity. Just that. All of which is to say, the new book is a high altitude game plan for our next seven generations via a biomaterials-based economy.

And now it’s shipping — the book, the e-book, and the audiobook. Get it today here and everywhere. Thanks to friendly forces over which I can’t claim control, my last two books have come out on 4/20. Hemp Bound in 2014 and American Hemp Farmer today. My son tells me that this is a one in 133,225 chance. The universe knows what it's doing.

I will be celebrating part of the holiday (4/20/20) with a virtual keynote in Montana at 5 p.m. Mountain time with the Montana State Hemp Fest folks. Please join to celebrate victory in the Rockies. Then don't miss the Earth Week festivities via the NoCo Hemp virtual expo, starting Wednesday, April 22. And next Tuesday, April 28, catch me late into the night on the legendary Coast to Coast A.M. radio show. May 19 is the Acres USA hemp symposium — join us for an immersive, educational day care of one of the world’s premier regenerative farming organizations.

After you pick up AMERICAN HEMP FARMER, be sure to join the DISPATCHES FROM THE FUNKY BUTTE RANCH (my newsletter on the latest on remote living, regenerative farming, and mischievous goats) at the newly redesigned DougFine.com

Lots to explore there: 20 years of journalism on five continents for the likes of National Public Radio, the New York Times, and Smithsonian Magazine. You can also check out videos including my Conan appearance, a TED Talk (about how vital and mischievous goats are), and footage of the time I was asked to testify at the United Nations about The Human Right To Plant Whatever the Heck One Likes. Plus, of course, the site has brand new practical and fun hemp videos.

To hammer home one of AMERICAN HEMP FARMER’s key themes, here's an excerpt that issues a challenge to Elon Musk (and every manufacturer of...everything) to be part of the solution, to connect the dots in our work and lives, to act upon a realistic opportunity to bridge humanity’s climate stabilization mission with its digital trajectory.

I’ll start gaining real confidence in the wider economic momentum shift to farm-grown industrial feedstock when both the rockets that SpaceX sends forth and the power cells that provide their energy are made from biomaterials.

The challenge applies to Tesla components, too of course. And to you and me, in our enterprises and our lives.  I am responsible for four human lives. Which is why I am hitting send on this Dispatch, then heading out to prepare soil, accompanied by a cactus wren soundtrack. I relate to the lyrics: “We will survive another year.”

Hope you enjoy it all — the book, the audiobook, the e-book, the website, the  videos, and the Dispatchers. And whatever your version of the hummingbird/wren health maintenance regimen entails.
