Doug Fine Returns to the Hawaii Farmers Union United Annual Convention, Maui Hawaii

  • HFFU Convention 2020 Maui, HI United States (map)

Each fall, the Hawaii Farmers Union, of which Doug is a proud member, puts on one of the best, most immersive farmer-focused food independence events in the world. The 2020 virtual event, which is Doug’s fourth year leading the three hours of hemp tracks, is one for the ages. The entire event runs from November 11-15, but the hemp tracks are on November 14.

These include three panels on life in the hemp entrepreneurial trenches, on regenerative hemp cultivation, and on fast-evolving policy worldwide. When registering for the event you can find times for all the November 14 hemp tracks. Moving beyond our favorite plant, there are representatives of her friends the fungus and soil microbes: the one and only Paul Stametz and Sandor Katz.

Now let’s move on to the music: at the Convention we’ll groove to Particle Kid, Willie Nelson, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, Edie Brickell, and Jack Johnson.

You can get your tickets for the full Convention at: HFUUHI.org. In so doing you support the Hawaii chapter of the National Farmers Union, an organization that advocates for a 3% THC definition of hemp! If you want to make soil bounty your calling, this is an event to attend. From soil building to jack fruit orcharding to hemp, everyone leaves this event having learned so much.

As always, Doug Fine’s 2020 #AmericanHempFarmer/Literally #HempBound World Tour event will be a rollicking experience with Doug talking regenerative hemp as a mode for building rural economies and mitigating climate change. The world, ya know, kind of needs this.
